This assignment is due at the end of the course, and it is broken down into 4 parts. We will focus on one part for every course unit. You should devote at least 2 hours per week on this assignment with a minimum of 14 hours total.
Before writing the term paper the student must have direct experience of a work of art by visiting an art museum or art gallery in NYC area. You may only write about works of art that you have seen during between October 26 through November . Don’t write about something that you remember. It must be a fresh experience. Each paper will consist of the following three components.
The student’s personal description and impressions of a single work of art based on an eye-witness account that is written at the time of the viewing.
Research conducted by the student to supply historical information about the artwork, the artist, and about the style, time period and culture associated with the art.
A formal, contextual and/or expressive analysis of the artwork.
This paper must be a minimum of three pages (Ariel 12 point font, double spaced – approx. 800 words). Specific instructions and information concerning the term paper is included with the assignment. Be sure to read all instructions before starting this paper.
